Newsletter (6) from Cohesion label (15th APRIL 2005)
Dear All
A quick update on what's been going on this side of the message board!
The four-cd set is now in production. The booklet is being put together as I type so plenty of proof-reading and double-checking to do over the next couple of weeks. The set is now going to be a book-style release, still with four CDs, containing a lot of previously unreleased material and rare tracks. There are also some previously unseen photos and memorabilia but Andy and Nigel are planning a full breakdown in the next Yawn, so we won't spoil the surprise here. The retail release will probably now be June although we will try to start selling online as soon as we have stocks here.
The Best Of DVD is also being researched, with hours of tv footage to go through and then plenty of negotiating with the relevant companies to get the rights to release. This probably won't come out until at least the autumn, but we will try to keep you updated on any news. Again, if you have any good ideas for items for inclusion, please do e-mail us. We are following through on all your suggestions.
The Band are also very keen to put together a brand new live DVD. This project is in its very early stages so there are no details at all yet. Once we know which show will be filmed we will let you know.
The message board has been busy lately and it's always good to read your comments. Please be aware that although we don't always respond, everything is read and acted upon as necessary. We could spend all day answering your messages (and moans and groans) but that wouldn't help getting the CDs out there. The members of the band also do read what's going on, but sometimes it just isn't helpful getting involved in some of the discussions. It is a forum for fans, after all, and certainly very good for those "Does anyone have the music/meaning for such a song" and "Any idea where I can get this track" type conversations!
The on-line shop is adding an 'end-of-range' section for those items where we have only limited stocks left. As examples. we have a few cassette copies of "Soft Vengeance" and a few vinyl copies of "Afrika" and "MMEB". We are also offering anyone who buys at least two CDs a free copy of the promo single we released to radio when "Evolution" came out. This is strictly on a 'while stocks last' basis, and we are unable to sell the CDs individually, so get your orders in now!
Hope you enjoy the forthcoming gigs in Europe.
Best wishes
Helen and Steve
