Help - Downloading Music

We currently support two file formats for sound.

.wav Files

By clicking on the link, simple .wav files are automatically downloaded on to your machine and if you have a sound card and speakers then you will be able to hear the music sample or speech file. The sound files can be quite large and if you have a slow modem or the Internet is congested, then it will take a long time for the file to complete the download process and you will not be able to listen to the file until it is finished.

RealAudio

RealAudio is a streaming technology which requires you to have a suitable 'plugin' installed in your browser. The good news is that these are free to download. The file begins to download and fills a 2 second buffer. As soon as the buffer is filled the file begins to play - no waiting until the file completes its download.

If there is a break in the flow of data the buffer smoothes things out. However you do sometimes get 'clicks and bangs' and the quality may not be as good as a .wav file.
